The contract type for a place that is your actual home — and the one carrying the tenant protections.
A vivienda habitual lease is the standard residential contract, and almost every protection a Spanish tenant has attaches to it: minimum duration with automatic extension, a cap on annual rent increases, and the statutory limits on deposits and guarantees.
This is why the contract type matters more than any individual clause. A generous-looking temporada contract still gives you less than an ordinary residential one, because the protections it lacks are not written in either document — they come from which kind it is.
If the flat is where you live, this is the contract you want, and the discrepancy between that and what you were offered is the thing to raise first.
