Eviction
The court process for recovering a property — slow, judicial, and not something a landlord may do themselves.
Eviction in Spain is a court procedure. A landlord cannot lawfully change the locks, remove your belongings, or cut off supplies to make you leave, whatever the state of the rent.
The process is correspondingly slow, which is the fact behind both the landlord anxiety that drives heavy deposit demands and the okupa coverage aimed at buyers.
For a tenant the practical point is narrower: pressure to leave that does not come through a court is pressure without legal force, and self-help eviction is itself unlawful.
